My last week of the holidays was really nice! The Pkra in Germany was the biggest I have ever seen! We had concerts, BMX´er, Skateboarder, Dj´s, Boxer and a lot of other action beside all the kiting!
The last days we got some sun and we could ride another Boardercross. Super funny! Kevin won it and Rick and me got 5th. Also the racers had a lot of work, because they did 12 races!
The party were really good and we all danced to electric music. All the 17 German were happy to be in the comp and we showed that our country is pushing the sport a lot! Yeah and all in all I am stoked about my 5th place!
Thanks to everybody for organizing such an amazing event! More Pictures
Sorry I haven´t been up to date for so long… enjoyed the holidays. After coming home from Greece - which was really great - I chilled at home for some days and did some party with my friends.
Then me and my dad went to St. Peter and I did the last sessions before the worldcup. The Pkra in Germany is even bigger than last year and for sure the biggest kite event worldwide. Quite a lot of people signed in - also a lots of Germans!
The first days we did the trials and some races. Sebastian Bubmann did quite well and is right now second overall in racing!Tuesday we started with the Singles in really light winds. Unluckily I lost my first heat against Sebastian Garat (France, Worldchampion KPWT), so I concentrated on the Doubles.Today we had quite a lot of wind - perfect for my 7m Vegas. The first heats I rode against my friends from Germany.
After winning these heats against Tobi and Rick I had to do a good heat against Cesar. Winning this one there were another chance against Sebastian Garat. Stoked about this run I had a good one against my teammate Reno from Brasil. In my next heat I was fighting with Mike „the knife” Blomvall for the 5th place. This was my best one - landing my normal passes, some switch tricks, Frontmobe blind…
My last one was against Tom Herbert and after spending 70 minutes fighting in my runs I had absolutely no power any more. But anyway super stoked about my 5th place - and this at my homespot! Thanks a lot to everyone for helping me, specially my family!
With the Best Trick the weekend started really good for me and it also finished great. Friday we did a few races and in the overall ranking I could reach the second place behind Armin Harich. It was pretty funny to go on full speed against the old guys but the big board is also pretty hard to handle - so everyone had pain in his legs in the evening…
Saturday started with some good conditions and we began with the freestyle event. My twelve was good until the final and I could show some moves. Again the last heat was against Stefan Permien and this time it was a close one again. The crowd on the beach was screaming and I could win the singles. In the evening we had a nice pogramm with One Fine Day and a DJ afterwards.
So today it was a bit more relaxed for me, I was in the last heat and had enough time to rig all my kites. On the beach were quite a lot of people, Norman played some cool songs and we saw some nice tricks from Rick, Jan, Bubbi, Tim…
In the final I was super motivated to catch the titel again and had a pretty solid heat with switch tricks, Frontmobe blind, Kiteloop HP - enough to win.
Thanks a lot to Enno for taking pictures and to everybody for helping me on the beach! And thanks even more to my parents and my sister for helping me so much to be German Vize-Champion in Race and German Champion Champion in Fresstyle 2008.
Tomorrow my sister, my mum and me are going to fly to Greece - hopefully I can update some nice stuff from there soon!
