Snowboarding at home

The last month it has been snowing nearly every day. I can´t remember that I ever saw this much before up here in the falt land. We´ve been snowkiting a lot and also build some kickers and rails when there wasn´t enough wind. In the next weeks my final exames are waiting for me… can´t wait to ride some fluid water again!

Yesterday we´ve been snowkiting with some little kicker in between the landscape. Most of the other days I spend in school and the gym right now. Can´t wait to finish my exames in the middle of march and take the next plane.

ION Shoot in Klitmøller

After I came back home to spend some days in school we hit the road straight north. On our way to Klitmøller Henning and me passed some huge three meter snow walls next to the street. We both passed so much time in this little surf village in Denmark but we never saw it that snowy up here. Some hours later Cesar, Fabi and Volker arrived in the dark night from Hamburg airport and showed us the 2011 ION collection - there is some pretty sweet stuff waiting for us!
After posing and freezing all day in the snow we chilled some hours in the warm house and then traveled back home.

Heya! Just coming back from a great session here in Thailand with nice kicker waves. Pretty warm here right now and I´m really enjoying the last days of 2009 with my family!

Merry Christmas from Thailand

After two six hour flights in the new Airbus 380 which has two floors my sister and me arrived in Bangkog. We left the huge city and drove to the new NKB station in Hua Hin. The kiteschool is direcetly at the spot where you can chill and get some massages.
My parents already waited for us and checked the conditions, food and all the stuff you need for a good holiday and training. We already had some great sessions on the water - including some good kickers.
Yesterday we came to see a temple at the monkey montain. Funny to see all the crazy apes jumping around the monks and us.

Quiksilver Snowboardtrip

After NewCal I had a pretty hectic time at home with lots of important exames and parties. Last weekend Quiksilver invited the whole team Germany and Austria to rock on a snowboard trip. Rick (Kitebaording), Tom (Wakeboarding) and me met in Hamburg and took the plane to Salzburg.
On Saturday we woke up with perfect powder in Flachau. Especially the snowboard team showed us some huge tricks in the Quiksilver Park. The local riders showed us the perfect untouched lines. The party turned out to be as good as the action on the snow - that´s why most of the team stayed in bed on Sunday. I wanted to go for another ride so much and rode until the last minute. The sleep I caught up on Monday in school…

New Worldchamp

After Alex won the singles it was a big surprise who was going to win the tour this year. Aaron knocked out in the third round couldn´t manage his way up because Youri just left him at fourth place. So then the championship was between Youri and Kevin - Kevin won this one very closely and automatically reached what he wanted for so long. Congrats! Alex keeping his win in the doubles may show how high the level rose this seasen!

My heats has been alright - won the first two ones and then had a really close one 2/1 decission against Tom Hebert. Could land KGB blind, Frontmobe blind, Double Sbend pass and three switches but unfortunately he got more switch ones. Still happy with my 9th place and the price money, I will cure my ankle for the last days. It already got better - will be perfect for my next trip!

Doubles today

Yesterday we started with the comp at 10 o´clock and finished the whole single. Right in front of my heat I put some ice spray on my food and I managed to land some good stuff like Double SBend pass, Frontmobe 5, Mobe wrapped and three switch ones.

In the second round I had to go against Alex Pastor who was on fire. In the beginng I crashed and had to swim for my board. Meanwhile I saw Alex nailing some sick ones. Thant´s why I decided to rest for the double and rest my ankle.
Alex had the run of his life - going all the way to the top! In the semi final Kevin took out Youri and Aaron has been nocked out one round before by Alberto Rondina. Kevin and Alex did pretty sick in the final and for the first time Alex won the singles.
Let´s see who it goes for my today - still feel my ankle a bit but it will be alright.

NewCal

Ten timezones and nearly 40 hours later I arrived at my hotel. The flight was pretty ok - could sleep a long time from Frankfurt to Singapur and on the one to Sydney. The first day I just went out to get warm again after three weeks of Germany. I´ve been out a few times at home, but there you care more about getting back the feeling in your fingers than landing some new tricks…

Just on the first day of our North shooting - doing my first trick for the cam - I hurt my ankle. It´s not too bad but still hurts a lot on the landings. Today we had a helicopter and managed to get some nice shots of Cesar, Reno, Thoma, Angela and me. We went straight out to an island where we shot in nice glassy water.

Tomorrow the competitions starts…so let´s hope my ankle gets better untill then. If it hurts to much I will rest this last competition and just come back full on next season. I will keep you updated who will be worldchamp in 2009.
