In preparation for the Seat Kitesurf Tour Europe on Sylt, the North team decided to do a road trip to Denmark for some last minute training. Joining them, video / photographer Nick de Bruijn to document their journey.

With the wind blowing from the North-West the team traveled all along the West coast visiting spots like: Rømø, Hvide Sande and several spots near Krik/Vestervig and Oddesund. Denmark turned out to be perfect for a week of training. A different spot every 5 minutes, waves, flat water, lagoons and enough place everywhere to set up your kites!

“Mario Rodwald” : After the last party with all my friends from school (and some cool teachers) I finally dropped out of my well-ordered life and went for a trip to Denmark. Tom Schüller and Stefan Spiessberger came with me to rock the beautiful country up north.
In the last seven days we had more then enough wind to check some new flat water spots all around the coast. We also got some big waves and up to 40
knots in Hvide Sande. Nick de Bruijn came with us to record some moving pictures of our roadtrip.

“Stefan Spiessberger” : Finally, after hard studying the last years, I passed my last exams in school! Yeah, I did it!

Right after it, I started an awesome roadtrip to Denmark, discovering some of the best flatwaterspots together with Mario Rodwald and Tom Schüller. Nick de Bruijn, a photographer from Holland, attended us the whole week. We’ve been shooting for a nice video quite a lot! Should be ready within the next days!

PKRA St Peter Ording

This week the biggest kiteboarding event worldwide takes places in St Peter Ording! Last year more than 120 000 visitors came to discover the sport, rock the party and enjoy the beach - this year even more people are showing up.
Saturday the trials of the freestyle event started and most of the German riders made it into the main event. On sunday nobody expected any wind but we were able to run the first round. Won against my team mate Luke Whiteside from the UK and in the next round it has been Seb Garat. The first half of this heat has been pretty good but in the end I missed my KGB blind and F Mobe blind…
Today ran the finals of the singles which Alex Pastor and Gisela Pulido from Spain could dominate. After my first heat in the doubles I´ve been happy with my show. Could do most of my switches and some clean kite- and downloop passes.
Tomorrow we hopefully will get some more action!

LnB Motion

I am proud to announce my new partner LnB Motion! For more than five years I know Dr. Petra and Roland Liebscher-Bracht who I met in Tarifa for the first time.
In the past twenty years they developed a very special way of pain treatment, wrote books about nutrition science and started LnB Motion. All their knowledge about the human body will help me in the next years to learn some new tricks in kiteboarding. Last week we created my own program specialised for the sport.
After one week of exercise I already beacame more flexible and right now I really beginn to understand how our body works.
I´ll keep you updated about my progress!

Right now I will register for the PKRA in St Peter!

Riverwaken and more

After we had finished the singles in Silvaplana the wind didn´t show up again. We decided to to some riversurfing and had lots of fun with the melting snow!
The next day I went back to the Hockenheimring where the Formula 1 takes place next weekend! Seat invited me to take part in some race lessons and we were taught how to control the car in every situation. So fun with the Seat CUPRA!

Today there wasn´t much wind so we went to the cable. Let´s hope for tomorrow!

European Kitesurf Tour –> Switzerland

On the long way down to Silvaplana, which is the highest kite spot in Europe, I stayed in Frankfurt for the night. It´s been nice to see my old friend Julien again and make some plans!

After three years of windless comp up here we finally could run the singles! The wind picked up with every heat and in the final I´ve been perfect on the 12 qm Vegas. I´ve been happy with most of the heats… altough there had been some really close ones against Eric Volpe and Stefan Permien. In the 10 minutes final against Rondina I started with all the normal passes and could even do a switch downloop slim, but in the end he managed two more landings and won the day. Let´s hope for the doubles and some more wind!

Time at home

It´s so fun to relax for some days at home! Yesterday we watched the soccer game and had some nice barbecue. Hopefully the east wind kicks in today - otherwise we try some tricks at the cable.
On wednesday we will leave to Silvaplana / Switzerland which is the highest kitespot here in Europe!

Sylt

Last week we spent a pretty windless time on the beautiful island. The sun has been shining most of the time and nearly every day it has been just enough wind for the racers… three times the headjudge tried to run the freestyle comp, but it never worked out.
Anyhow we had lot´s of fun and a nice party in the end! The next three days don´t look to promising - so probably wakeboarding.

Not much wind

Right now there isn´t much wind up here and we´ve been wakeboarding some days. Thanks to Ronix I got some very very sick bindings! Probably the lighest and best for kiteboarding…really love the Relik ones.

These days I am leaving school behind which is somehow strange after 13 years. I will miss all my friends and the fun we had here so much! We all got to meet again, somewhere!!!

The good aspect is that all my energy can go into the sport from now on. On monday Tom Schüller, Stefan Spiessberger and Nick de Brujn (camera) will start to shoot our new video. Can´t wait to push it!

The second tourstop of the Kitesurf Tour Europe took place in Noordwujk / Netherlands. This event is already known for his epic electro parties and the chilled atmosphere which we could totally enjoy due to the light wind.
On Saturday we could start the first rounds of the singles until the wind totally dropped. The last eigth riders (of the 32) in the game became the points for the first place - so right now I´m second in the European ranking!
Sunday we spent in Amsterdam… and on Monday the skippers meeting took place at 5 am but just brought another windless day.
Yesterday I´ve been doing some pics in Büsum and stayed way too long in the water! Can´t remember such a long session in the past years!
